Thursday, October 29, 2009 Tindle Looking to Finish Strong in Vegas; $35,000 Promod Clash
 by TJ Pruitt
Tim Tindle heads to Vegas with hopes in the Get Screened America Promod Challenge, presented by Pro Care RX. Holding a strong eighth position in points heading into the NHRA Las Vegas Nationals, the Santa Rosa Beach, FL racer will compete in the Matco Tools $35,000 Promod Clash and then the series’ final race. In 2007, Tindle won the Promod Clash and then marched on to finish strong in the series.
The first-round pairings of the “shootout” were set randomly during a conference call Tuesday evening that included the top eight in points. Tindle, former Clash winner, will face Mike Castellana in the first round.
‘We are just fortunate to even be in the shootout,” Tindle said with a laugh. We had a “hiccup” that began about midseason and we are just now getting it figured out.”
“Quain (Stott) and the guys have been working hard to get this hotrod figured out, and our performance is definitely going uphill. We plan to lay down low numbers (e.t.’s) and make consistent laps down the race track.”
PromodChallenge.com The first round of qualifying on Friday for all cars competing in the event is scheduled for 12:00 p.m., and the first round of the Matco Tools Clash is scheduled for 6:00 p.m., followed by the remaining cars in their second round of qualifying.
