DAYTON, Ohio -- The recent Wally Scherer/DARF Injured Driver's Benevolent Fund Auction was a great success thanks to former promoter/auctioneer Tom Wieck of Big Dawg Auctions and to all who donated items and of course those who were the highest bidder.

Thanks to Wieck's ability to secure the most revenue from the items that crossed the auction block a little over $3,000 was generated for the fund that saw some $5,000 dispersed this season to aid those that qualified for assistance.

DARF would like to thank the full house of enthusiastic fans that attended and especially all who donated items.

The next event of the DARF organization will be the November 24 meeting featuring Doug Auld, publisher of SprintCar & Midget magazine and noted author and broadcaster Dave Argabirght. The meeting will be in the social hall of Jackass Flats, intersection of Fishburg & Rip Rap Roads in Dayton starting at 7 p.m.

Tickets for the 40th Annual "Banquet of Champions" on December 5th at Celebrations Banquet Center are available at $25 each until November 18 after which they will be $30 and none will be available at the door. Contact Jana Sparks at 937 335-1730 before they are sold out.
