The 35-lap race, a tribute to the late Al Shultz, of Selinsgrove, will pay $1,500 to win. Nearly $10,000 in prize money and contingencies will be offered for the division’s biggest race of the season.
Time trials, heat races, B-main, and a dash for cash will be the format for setting the 24-car starting lineup. Track gates will open at 4 p.m. The rain date, if needed, will be Wednesday, Sept. 23, at 6:30 p.m. The Briggs & Stratton slingshots will also compete in a 25-lap main event.
In addition to the base purse for the micro sprint car A-main, bonus money will be on the line for the event’s fast qualifier, lap leaders, and heat and dash winners. Contingencies, ranging from a new top wing for the winner from Wing Dynamics to new racing tires from Hoosier and Lias Tire, will also be awarded. The Middleburg IGA will be sponsoring the championship trophy.
