SARVER, Pa. -- With the two darkest and coldest months of the new year behind us, the turning of the calendar to March means the Lernerville Pre-Season is almost upon us. In just two short weeks, we'll reconvene with our racing family at the Annual Lernerville Speedway Awards Banquet. As previously announced, this year's banquet moves south to the Willow Tree/Comfort Inn & Suites in RIDC Park along Route 28 South between Harmar and Fox Chapel on Saturday, March 16.

Tickets must be purchased in advance, (by Monday, March 11), and are available by calling the speedway office during normal business hours at (724) 353-1511. For those planning on staying the night, please mention the 'Lernerville Banquet Block' for discounted room prices. Drivers and Sponsors are invited to donate items (t-shirts, hats, merchandise, memorabilia, etc.) for the door prize raffle.

In addition to recognizing the 2012 Track Champions, Top Ten in Budweiser Points and special award recipients, Don Gamble will induct the 2013 Class of the Lernerville Speedway Hall of Fame, Walt Wimer will present plaques to the 2012 Cavalcade Award winners and announce the 2012 Western PA Rookie of the Year and we will present checkered flags to the 2012 First Time Feature Winners.

The following weekend we'll return to Butler, PA for the first of two car shows. The Clearview Mall Car Show is scheduled for Thursday-Saturday, March 21-23. After a fun-filled weekend in Butler County, the travelling road show will return to the Route 28 corridor for the Galleria at Pittsburgh Mills Car Show on Thursday-Saturday, March 28-30. Fab Four drivers that put their cars on display for either car show will receive free tickets to Fab Four Racing and have to opportunity to make new friends and fans during the two weekends. Registration is free and can be made by calling the speedway office during normal business hours at (724) 353-1511 or by emailing Public Relations Director Eric Westendorf at ewestendorf@dirtcar.com. Cars will be brought into the malls at the end of the business day (roughly 9:00PM) on the Wednesday Night before the each respective show.

Then, after a weekend to unwind and prepare for the arduous 2013 Lernerville Speedway schedule, the season will take the green flag on Saturday, April 13 with the annual Test & Tune Practice Session and the finale of the DIRTcar Round Up Steel City Stampede will be contested on Sunday, April 14. Cars need not be registered to compete in the Steel City Stampede to participate in practice. Furthermore, previously unregistered cars will be permitted to tail the B-Main on Sunday in an attempt to qualify for the A-Main. More detailed information about the Steel City Stampede will be released after the banquet.

Rules for all divisions of Fab Four Racing, along with A-Main and B-Main lineups for the rescheduled Steel City Stampede can be viewed at www.Lernerville.com by clicking the 'Downloads' tab on the right hand side of the page. You can also view/print the 2013 schedule by clicking the 'Schedule' tab along the top of the page.

2010 Sprint Car Track Champion Danny Holtgraver scored a $10,000 win in the 12th Annual Ronald Laney Memorial/'King of the 360s' at East Bay Raceway Park in Tampa, FL last weekend over a stout field that included the likes of Danny Lasoski, Jason Sides, Terry McCarl and Tim Shaffer. The $10,000 payday was the biggest of Holtgraver's career and should be a spring board to more success on the UNOH All Star Circuit of Champions tour aboard the Rob Hunter/Bryan Grove owned #45. Sarver's own John Garvin Jr. is racing in Georgia this weekend with the FASTRAK Late Models along with PPMS star Colton Flinner.
