SAN ANTONIO, Texas -- San Antonio Speedway is proud to announce that North Park Toyota will be the official sponsor for its first racing event of the 2013 season. The first of four events scheduled for this year will be held on April 19 and 20 and will officially be named "North Park Toyota Fiesta on Asphalt at San Antonio Speedway."

In addition, North Park Toyota is being named the Official Vehicle (car) Dealer for San Antonio Speedway. For this first event, North Park Toyota will also be furnishing the pace car (truck), providing representation as the Grand Marshall and participating in the recognition of the winners in Victory Lane.

North Park Toyota had come on board as the official car dealer for San Antonio Speedway and a title sponsor for the Pro Late Models when San Antonio Speedway reopened last year with its 11th "not so annual" Octoberfast. The track had been dormant for the previous five years and was reopened by Unique Track Solutions LLC.

Brian Bohlen, who is the Operations Director at San Antonio Speedway, is excited about the return of North Park Toyota for the upcoming race season.

"North Park Toyota certainly played an important role in partnering with us last October," said Bohlen. "Their support was truly appreciated by both the racers and fans. By being part of racing action again this year, North Park Toyota will definitely provide additional exposure and credibility for our racing venue."

North Park Toyota's General Manager, Merle Gothard, is also excited about this partnership.

"San Antonio Speedway's reopening this past year was exciting, and North Park Toyota Scion of San Antonio sponsorship of the reopening was very special," commented Gothard. "The Speedway is a part of history in San Antonio and Bexar County. Many memories were re-lived that opening weekend. As a relatively new dealership, North Park saw the opportunity to be part of what we hope will be a long future of racing fun and excitement! The fact that the spectators in the stands can look out over the race track and see the Toyota Motor Manufacturing of Texas Tundra Plant is another reason we feel like this a special opportunity for all of us at North Park! When the fans see the Tundra Pace Truck rounding the track and see in the background where the truck was built, how special is that?"

Although an official, detailed schedule for the first event has not been issued yet, qualifying events and heat races will be scheduled on Friday night (April 19). Feature races (main events) will be run on Saturday night (April 20). A detailed schedule will be released soon, along with information on purses (driver payouts) and the event entry process.

Additional race dates for the 2013 race season include June 14 & 15, September 6 & 7 and OctoberFAST on October 17, 18 and 19. Six classes of racing will be featured at each event - including the Pro Late Models, Modifieds, Trucks, Street Stocks, Chargers and Grand Stocks.
